The 2021-2022 Secondary Teacher of the Year for the White Hall School District is Kathyrn Austin. Mrs. Austin teaches business curriculum at White Hall High School, including Accounting, Principles of Banking, Business Management, and Financial Planning. She is the National Honor Society and Senior Games team sponsor. Mrs. Austin, who is in her fourth year at White Hall High School, taught at the collegiate level before moving to Arkansas.
Mrs. Austin earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi, concentrating in Nutrition and Dietetics, completed a didactic program at the University of Southern Mississippi, and a master of business administration at the University of Mississippi. In addition to being a certified teacher, Mrs. Austin is also certified as a registered, licensed dietitian. Before becoming an educator, she spent many years in quality and risk management in a hospital setting. Mrs. Austin is a member of ABEA, NBEA, and ACTE. Kathryn and her husband Peter have three boys, Knox (12), Merrick (10), and Lute (5), who all attend school in the White Hall School District. Congratulations, Mrs. Austin!!
